Or did Oppo just get all squeezy, with the first line of text of the post removed?
Edit :
Interestingly, if I squeeze a browser window down to force it into mobile mode, the pics/text intros are there. I wonder if we are in the middle of a redesign of some sort. Why don’t they do this in the middle of the night??
Edit 2: FP is different now, too. Great.

Mine looks okay for now:
Win7, Chrome, monitor in portrait.

just you so far. at least on this end.

You are among the last to be assimilated. Perhaps the Kinja devs are looking for more nonexistent problems.

I see it that way also. (Chrome on a desktop)

Great. Another solution in search of a problem.

O n Safari on my desktop, everything looks normal.

That’ what I’m seeing. First paragraph “post preview” or whatever it’s called gone from Oppo, as well as from my personal blog. Main blogs don’t appear to be affected yet though . No such changes have been mentioned on Kinja Changelog, so I’m guessing it’s a glitch.

Let’s hope so.

Yup. More kinja breaking something that works just because.

Dang, I hope this isnt a permanent change. I always like intentionally wording the first couple sentences of a post to be more exciting to catch the eye of someone just scrolling through. This is also how I figure out what I want to click on! Now I will have to just be judgey about photos or the person posting. Damn kinja trying to make me be more productive...

Trying to fit a description into the space allotted is a challenge, but it forces you to be a better writer. No, really.

It’s awful on mobile now. Titles are after the posts.
![]() 12/03/2018 at 16:56 |

Looks like it’s just the lead pic and the title now.

I see it on my laptop running Chrome. RIP.

Yeah, it did. If they left at least the first line of text on there, it would look pretty good. Shame they didn’t. It’s not terrible...but it could have been better.

It’s a glitch until it gets listed. Then it’s a “feature”

It looks okay on my iPhone. I think they’re moving the deck chairs around on the Titanic again,

Deck chairs. Titanic.

I think you’re onto something there. I can see them in portrait mode
, but not in
landscape.

Just tried it on Android- the post previews are visible ONLY if
the device is held vertically.

Ive got it too.

Just checked again- Gizmodo is affected, but Jalopnik is not. For me, anyway.
EDIT: Wait, hang on. They might both be affected after all. Check this out- OppositeBlog is affected, but only on certain posts. Looks like embiggened posts are retaining their post previews?

Normal for me. Though often when people start getting bad changes, it’s normally a sign that the bad changes are going to roll out to the full audience shortly.

Chrome on Mac? What kind of savage are you?
![]() 12/03/2018 at 17:17 |

One of those Mac people who always use both Safari and Chrome instead of just picking one browser to use.

I’m all-in on Android and Google services, but I jumped off the Windows bandwagon in 2014 when I needed a new laptop and Windows 8(.1) was a steaming pile of shit.

Everything seems perfectly normal to me?

New improved Oppo - now with twice the amount of shitposting per inch!

Silver lining, I guess. At the end of the day, it’s the content, not the format. But this format sucks. I’m hoping it’s only temporary. Unless they’re trying to empty the ghettos.

I’ve only been on my phone since the “ upgrade”, but I’m old and easily confused , so putting the headline * under* the intro irritates the hell out of me.
![]() 12/03/2018 at 18:42 |

That doesn ’t really bother me. I just with they would fix it on desktop. I’m hoping this isn’t the new normal.

On the other hand, it’s now wrapping the text on Corey CC97s ridiculous user name which is awesome. That’s been pissing me off on mobile for quite a while.
